The New Generation of H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Centre Seconds Is Now Available in Matrix Green and Purple Haze

The importance of colours for watch dials goes beyond mere aesthetics; it encompasses functionality, style, and even emotional resonance. These play a crucial role in defining a watch brand's identity and design language. Some brands are known for using specific hues consistently across their collections. Underlining the significance of colours for its watches, H. Moser & Cie. has welcomed back the “Green Dragon” (Ref. 6201-1200) of the Streamliner collection, which is accompanied by a new reference, Purple Haze (Ref. 6201-1201) with the Mark 2 Streamliner Centre Seconds.

The Streamliner collection was born with a historic innovation from H. Moser & Cie. in January 2020: the Streamliner Flyback Chronograph. It has since been expanded to include the Streamliner Centre Seconds and the Streamliner Perpetual Calendar. The series is inspired by the sleek automobile and locomotive designs of the 1920s, combining H. Moser & Cie.'s distinctive minimalism with contemporary elegance. Designed from integrated steel bracelets up, with individual links and casings precisely treated to represent the essence and durability of steel, the Streamliners show a fascination with ergonomics.

The 40 mm stainless steel Matrix Green Streamliner Centre Seconds is now back, alongside the new Purple Haze variant. One of the design changes involves the logo, which is now virtually invisible due to its new depiction in transparent lacquer. With minimal distractions on the dial, the sunburst fumé finish can reveal a variety of colours when the dial is exposed to light. These dials, which range from olive green to red gold on the Matrix Green and from deep purple to blue reflections on the Purple Haze, are simply captivating. Globolight (a revolutionary ceramic-based material containing Super-LumiNova) inserts are used in the hour, minute, and central second hands. The dials of both references get a sunburst pattern.

Powering the watches is the Calibre HMC 201 automatic movement with a 72-hour (3 days) power reserve. This movement uses original Straumann® hairspring with an anthracite finish, Moser double stripes, and partially skeletonised bridges. Turning each watch over showcases a skeleton caseback with an automatic bi-directional pawl winding system with a solid 18-carat gold oscillating weight. What’s more, the watches are finished on integrated steel bracelets, each of which has a folding clasp with three steel blades, engraved with the Moser logo.
