Top 7 Coloured Ceramic Timepieces Spotted at Watches and Wonders 2025

With the pinnacle of the watchmaking calendar behind us, we’re still soaking in its brilliance. Year after year, watch brands breathe fresh life into the craft, unveiling trendsetting designs and meticulous calibres that redefine the way we experience time.

This year was no exception. At Geneva, GMT India scoured the booths of iconic watchmakers and spotted some of the most atypical movements, dichotomous dials, and most notably, an explosion of colours — vivid, muted, and everything in between.

From the ateliers of Rolex, Zenith, Montblanc, and Audemars Piguet came coloured ceramic watches that had us captivated. Not to miss the ubiquitous, hyper masculine hallmark of coloured ceramics: Hublot, which continued to build on its audacious and playful codes this season too.

Ceramic watches have long enjoyed a loyal fan base emerging from a deep affinity for attributes like lightness, scratch resistance, hypoallergenic properties, and the colour variations they come in. Fashion books affirm that wearing colours like mustard yellow or mint green is more than just a style choice; it’s a declaration of freedom and confidence.

So, if you are looking to upgrade your watch collection with fresh colours, look no further. Join us for an in-depth exploration of the most iconic ceramic watches that stole the spotlight at this year’s Watches and Wonders.

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona

A trusted ally of motorsports, the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona stirs deep emotions. This watch, sculpted in 18 ct gold, comes with a turquoise blue lacquer dial that etches itself into the mind instantly. Inscribed around the rim is a Cerachrom bezel featuring a tachymeter which lends the model its unique identity.

Here, ‘Cerachrom’ refers to 'ceramic’ and ‘chrom’ (the Greek word for colour), highlighting Rolex’s pioneering role in the development of special ceramics to create particular elements of its watch cases — notably monobloc bezels and monobloc bezel inserts.

Not only are these materials scratch-resistant, but their colours are also of a rare intensity and resistant to environmental effects. In addition, their chemical composition lends the watch durability and protection against corrosion, making it a top choice amongst ceramic novelties.

Zenith Defy Skyline Chronograph

Dominating the season with an all-blue aesthetic is the Zenith Blue Ceramic Chronograph Trilogy. Three watches in one monochrome — the message is stark and clear. It’s Zenith’s 160th anniversary and the Swiss luxury watchmaker is ringing it in with a custom blue ceramic designed especially for the occasion.

Our pick? Hands down, the DEFY Skyline Chronograph. This one’s for those who like versatile timepieces.

At its heart lies the El Primero 3600 calibre, a modern evolution of Zenith’s legendary high-frequency chronograph, originally introduced in 2019

Legend has it that the Zenith name was inspired by a bright, night sky full of stars. The vision has manifested with this novelty, a contemporary successor to the 1969 DEFY, reimagined entirely in ceramics. The deep hue of the faceted 42 mm case and bracelet is echoed on the dial, adorned with an engraved geometric motif, inspired by the brand’s four-pointed star.

We couldn’t miss the intuitive strap-change system, where a simple button press lets you effortlessly switch from the three-link ceramic bracelet to the star-patterned blue rubber strap, perfectly secured with a steel folding clasp.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore in Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50

Fuelling Audemars Piguet’s new Royal Oaks is the distinctive shade of Vallée de Joux night sky in Le Brassus, where the brand started its first workshop 150 years ago. For 2025, the Maison has adopted this deep blue hue in ceramics, which now dresses two distinctive Royal Oak Offshore self-winding chronographs.

For this feature, we’ve chosen the 42 mm case that flaunts a sporty monochromatic design in ‘Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50’ ceramic — a hue with historical resonance, paying homage to the deep blue of the original Royal Oak crafted by the iconic Gérald Genta (reference 5402).

This sportive monochromatic Chronograph comes with the Calibre 4404 with a power reserve of 70 hours

Draped in a deep night-blue shade, the uniform hue seamlessly extends across the inner bezel, Méga Tapisserie dial, and chronograph counters, creating a striking visual harmony.

Combining high-tech machining with traditional finishing, the colours come to life with precision Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) treatment that ensures consistent tones across the dial and the bracelet. It is subtly contrasted by stainless steel details including the collection's emblematic hexagonal screws on the bezel.

Rolex GMT Master II

Designed as a navigation aid for globetrotters, the GMT Master became the watch of choice for travellers. This season, Rolex has introduced Oyster Perpetual GMT-Master II with its first-ever dial made of cutting-edge ceramic along with green Cerachrom component. This Rolex ceramic dial, like its counterparts, is designed to resist scratches and withstand environmental changes. While a nudge or bump won’t harm it, it’s no excuse to get reckless!

With this debut, it's noteworthy that the dial mirrors natural stone craftsmanship and matches the green of the lower half of the two-tone Cerachrom bezel

Boasting of true colours under all lighting conditions, this tonal harmony lingers long in the eyes of the beholder. If you’re opting for this watch, know that the bidirectional rotatable bezel also allows the watch to display time in two time zones simultaneously!

Tudor Pelagos Ultra

A highly technical, mechanical diver's watch in its essence, the Tudor Pelagos Ultra bridges the gap between land and sea. Now offered in a 43 mm case, its dial becomes the source of interest.

Tudor Pelagos Ultra's movement is powered by calibre MT5612-U, with a power reserve of 70 hours

Equipped with the luminescent ceramic composite monobloc applied hour markers, a unidirectional rotating bezel, and a matte ceramic insert, the watch thrives on the interplay of black and titanium grey.

Meant for deep sea exploration, the watch is water-resistant up to 1000 m. A chunkier version of the original Pelagos dive tool, the dial remains black matte to avoid reflection and better readability under water. Developed in conjunction with the French Navy’s combat swimmers, this tool makes it possible to perform countdowns with ease during so-called ‘oxygen’ dives.

Hublot Big Bang Unico and One Click

Hublot, renowned for its bold and robust designs, makes yet another statement at Geneva. Marking 20 years of expanding the boundaries of horological innovation, the Swiss watchmaker banks on spring’s evocative tones to introduce a pair in Petrol Blue and Mint Green ceramics.

For Hublot, materials are a crucial part of their watch design. For this pair, the Manufacture has chosen high-tech ceramic for bezels and cases

Unisex in their appeal, alluring, and simply like nothing else out there — these colours derive from the greens and blues in nature’s palette. These fresh ceramic hues are featured in the Big Bang Unico 42 mm and the Big Bang One Click 33 mm. This 33 mm model, celebrated for its feminine charm and creative design, is crafted in ceramic for the first time.

Highlighting the versatility of Petrol Blue and Mint Green tones, these two iconic Big Bang silhouettes provide a canvas suited for various styles and occasions.

Chanel J12 Bleu

Chanel’s five-year journey has culminated in the J12 Bleu — a unique watch in a shade that is too blue to be black, and too black to be entirely blue. Crafted in a material seven times stronger than steel but also lighter, this watch is equipped with a highly resistant ceramic, designed to withstand all tests of time.

J12's movement is powered by Calibre 12.2, with a 50 hour power reserve

J12 Bleu comes in nine interpretations with or without blue sapphires, including five haute horlogerie pièces. The watch is entirely produced by the House’s Watch Manufacture in Switzerland, from the production of the ceramic components to the assembly of the timepiece.

For the first time, an intense matte blue shade elevates the highly resistant ceramic of the J12 watch. With this unique shade exclusive to the House, the Chanel Watch Creation Studio gives time a new tone, and the watch comes in a limited edition.
