Panerai’s recent launches have showcased the brand’s ability to straddle timeless heritage and modern innovation – think of the Luminor Due Prada Re-Nylon, which balances its classic look with the innovative Re-Nylon fabric straps. In keeping with this spirit, the brand has just unveiled the new Luminor Quaranta BiTempo collection. The Quaranta line embodies the attributes of Luminor in a compact manner and the latest release continues the narrative with a dual time complication.

The 40 mm brushed steel case of the Luminor Quaranta BiTempo collection houses the automatic P.900/GMT calibre. The movement is fully visible through the sapphire crystal open back, drawing attention to Panerai’s technical finesse and savoir-faire.
With the help of the GMT function, wearers can simultaneously track local time and a second time zone, a must-have for cosmopolitan travellers in this day and age. The functionality works even in low-light conditions as the gilded tip of the GMT hand lights up in blue while the indexes glow in green. The readability is further enhanced by a more prominent date display, which complements the overall design.

Even with the updated look, the latest collection retains a lot of the design elements of the previous editions, such as the small seconds at 9 o’clock and the distinctive indexes. Then there are the instantly recognisable elements that define the Luminor line: the cushion-shaped case and the crown-protecting bridge. These features are indeed reminiscent of the versions from the 2000s.

What’s more, the new collection offers two colour options, when it comes to the dial: black and white. Each watch is presented on an alligator strap with tone-on-tone stitching and a brushed steel buckle, contrasting with the polished steel bezel for a minimalist yet dynamic look.

For further versatility, each wristwatch is equipped with the intuitive PAM Click Release System, allowing for easy strap changes. The watch also comes with a second rubber band. The PAM01365 showcases a matte black dial, paired with white Super-Luminova®, and an additional black rubber strap while the PAM01367 with its matte white dial, coated with grey Super-Luminova®, is paired with a blue rubber strap.
The name, “BiTempo”, which means “dual time” in Italian, is inscribed on the dial, underscoring the Maison’s roots and the quintessential Italian design tradition.
