LVMH Watch Week 2025: TAG Heuer Kicks off the Year with New Additions to Five Lines
As LVMH Watch Week 2025 begins in New York and Paris, luxury watch brands on the group’s roster are gearing up for big launches. In other words, the prestigious event, which was set to take place in Los Angeles but was rescheduled due to the devastating wildfires in the West Coast, promises a grand horological fare. TAG Heuer for one has launched novelties as part of five collections – TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph, Carrera Chronograph and Tourbillon, Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye, Carrera Date, and TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph. The focus is evidently on chronographs and TAG Heuer’s racing heritage as the brand will return to Formula 1 as the official timekeeper this year.
GMT India takes a closer look at the novelties.
TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph: The Glassbox Goes Precious
TAG Heuer has debuted the iconic TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph as a precious iteration. This release includes two stunning new designs, each blending precision with elegance in line with the Maison’s DNA. One of the timepieces boasts Carrera’s signature blue while the other one dazzles in a delicate powdery pink. A perfect blend of feminine sophistication, and versatility and timelessness, these colours create a cohesive narrative within the collection.
The circular-brushed finish of each dial adds depth and texture, drawing attention to its captivating design. This finish ensures that the surface remains legible in varying light conditions. The dial is structured around a bi-compax layout, wherein the subdials are thoughtfully arranged to maintain both functionality and aesthetic balance. The rhodium-plated hands offer impeccable clarity and precision in timekeeping while a discreet date window at 6 o’clock ensures that all essential information is readily accessible without any disruption in the dial’s harmonious symmetry. These two timepieces do offer a fresh and refined interpretation of TAG Heuer Carrera’s iconic legacy while maintaining its timeless versatility.
The diamond-studded flange, adorned with 72 diamonds totalling 0.45 carats, adds another layer of luxury to the timepieces. At the heart of these 39 mm timepieces lies TH20-00, an in-house chronograph caliber. The signature blue model is paired with a dark blue alligator leather strap while the powdery pink version comes with a matching calfskin leather strap. The straps also boast a subtle pearlescent effect, adding a luminescent quality that complements the luxurious design of the watches. Additionally, two other strap options, a white alligator strap and a grey alligator one, will be made available to add versatility to these releases, both available in flagship stores and online.
TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph and TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon in Purple
Following the success of TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph in purple, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph and the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon reimagine the Glassbox design with striking smoky black-to-purple gradient dials. In other words, the watch faces of the new models are made with a smooth gradient effect, transitioning from deep black at the edges to a rich purple at the centre. This smoky sunray-brushed finish increases the dimensionality of the design, playing with light and depth from every angle.
The chronograph counters show a full black azuré finish, highlighted by silver accents for clarity and contrast, ensuring optimal legibility while enriching the overall visual appeal. The iconic domed sapphire crystal of the Glassbox further amplifies the dial’s curved structure, making each watch a bold statement on the wrist.
The cases feature a sunray-brushed finish that complements each dial’s gradient, creating a dynamic contrast between the black outer ring and the purple centre. Rhodium-plated hour markers, along with silver accents, bring a refined but understated elegance to each timepiece.
The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon variant especially displays the brand’s horological mastery. Limited to just 200 pieces, as indicated by the engraving XXX/200 on the caseback, this timepiece is powered by TAG Heuer’s in-house Heuer 02 (TH20-09) tourbillon movement, offering a 65-hour power reserve. The tourbillon is framed within the smoky purple dial, drawing attention to its precision and savoir-faire beneath the Glassbox’s domed sapphire crystal.
Both models are fitted with black perforated leather straps, complemented by black stitching on the front and a purple calfskin lining on the reverse with tone-on-tone stitching.
TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye
The collaboration between TAG Heuer and Porsche marks its fifth year in 2025 with the release of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronosprint x Porsche Rallye reference. The limited-edition timepiece pays homage to the unique legacies of the two maisons, combining Porsche’s indomitable 911 with TAG Heuer’s noted expertise in precision chronographs. It is also inspired by the Heuer dashboard times that were regarded as critical to success for competitors in the historic Monte Carlo Rally, one of the most prestigious and challenging events in the world of motorsport.
The timepiece comes in two variations: one in steel and the other in 18 ct 3N solid yellow gold. The steel piece is limited to 911 pieces, a special nod to Porsche 911, a car that has changed the face of motorsports forever. The yellow gold version is limited to only 11 pieces. The black dial is a nod to the Heuer Master Time/Monte Carlo stopwatches from 1965; it enhances legibility with its strong contrasting details, an essential element in the context of racing in low-visibility conditions. Beige markings reference the original car’s steering wheel while the dial’s finish evokes the shimmering effect of its bodywork, adding a refined touch.
The steel version comes with a classic H-shaped bracelet and an additional black perforated leather strap with beige stitching, offering a versatile look for any occasion. The gold version is made from 18 ct 3N solid yellow gold; it’s paired with a black perforated leather strap with beige stitching and an additional light brown perforated calfskin strap, allowing for personalisation.
TAG Heuer Carrera Date: A Pastel Makeover
As TAG Heuer debuts the newest faces of its TAG Heuer Carrera Date collection, the spirit of this iconic model takes on a soft and feminine palette. The two 36 mm models, in captivating powdery pink and lilac, lend a refined yet playful touch to the TAG Heuer Carrera lineup, gracefully blending sophistication with a contemporary twist; their gender-neutral appeal makes the timepieces even more versatile.
Unique colours have always reigned supreme in the TAG Heuer Carrera Date series, like the much-talked-about Barbie hot pink variant launched in 2023. The new powdery pink edition features a sunray-brushed dial while the lilac model has a distinctive snail-brushed dial. These two finishes allow wearers to choose between a timeless and a trend-forward look, giving each timepiece its own personality within the pastel spectrum. The pastel shades of these new TAG Heuer Carrera Date models are also decked with a touch of sparkle ― 11 diamonds glint subtly on each dial, totaling 0.2 carats. TAG Heuer’s use of classic diamond indexes lend a sophisticated, understated charm, aligning with each watch's refined aesthetic, drawing attention to the pastel dials without overwhelming them.
These timepieces come with the reworked, iconic Carrera H bracelet in polished steel. Both watches are powered by the latest Caliber 7 automatic movement with a 56-hour power reserve. This movement also provides a 6 o’clock angled date to each watch.
TAG Heuer Formula 1 Collection: Celebration of Racing Heritage
Blending racing heritage with modern craftsmanship, TAG Heuer has revealed five new timepieces as part of the TAG Heuer Formula 1 collection as well – four chronographs and the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Oracle Red Bull Racing variant, a tribute to the fearless spirit of motorsports. Building on the brand’s deep connection to the racing world, these new additions take the TAG Heuer Formula 1 legacy to newer levels, offering bold new chronographs made with cutting-edge materials, top ergonomics, and design details inspired by F1. They also celebrate TAG Heuer’s ongoing partnership with Oracle Red Bull Racing.
The new case of each variant reflects the aerodynamic lines of F1 cars, with the signature shape evoking the nose of a F1 vehicle. The bezel’s micro-perforations subtly reference the brake discs on the fastest machines on the planet. The details in the indexes are reminiscent of the shape of the front of the F1 cars.
Ergonomics played a crucial role in the development of the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph line. The brand optimised the lug-to-lug distance for improved comfort while also refining the case profile to create a sleek and streamlined look. The use of lightweight titanium for the case ― with some versions enhanced by a DLC coating ― combined with a dynamic rubber strap ensures that these timepieces are both sturdy and comfortable, and are ideal for racing fans and city dwellers alike.
The new timepieces make a powerful statement with their bold contrasts and vibrant colours, drawing inspiration from the energy of night racing. The concept of “Grand Prix by night” shapes the design, blending dark tones with vivid bursts of colour. Though the timepieces share a common foundation, each watch presents its own unique colour expression: the first model highlights a bold red running track and red lacquer accents, as seen in the second watch, intensified by a red strap. The third version takes on a cooler feel with blue accents and a black-and-blue strap; the fourth introduces a fresh, lively, lime green running track and a bicoloured strap, perfect for those who want a more vibrant take on high-performance timekeeping.
