In Keeping with its June Launch Tradition, Oris Presents the Hölstein Edition 2023
Every year, on June 1, Oris releases a 250-piece limited-edition watch, called the Hölstein Edition; it is named after the beautiful Swiss village, where the brand was born. This year, continuing the special anniversary tradition, Oris has turned to the classic Aquis collection, lending it a new look with a deep purple dial.
Capturing the brand’s rich history that started more than a century ago, the Hölstein Edition 2023 re-introduces the brand’s best-selling line in the form of the new Aquis diver’s watch.
Dialled Up
Giving the Aquis timepiece a makeover, Oris has put forth a vibrant, deep purple dial. The watch has a 43.5 mm stainless steel case and a unidirectional rotating bezel with a grey ceramic insert. The hands and indices, filled with Super-LumiNova®, shine brightly against the scintillating purple background. The watch is presented on a multi-piece stainless steel metal bracelet with a security folding clasp and a clasp extension. The sapphire top glass is domed on both sides and has an anti-reflective coating inside.
The brand has upped its game with the movement as well. The watch is powered by Oris Calibre 400, an in-house, game-changing, five-day automatic movement. This delivers elevated anti-magnetism and better chronometer accuracy (-3/+5 seconds a day). However, it does not have a date function — in fact, this is the first ever ‘no-date’ Aquis, which has actually been a request from the Oris community.
The brand has paid special attention to the caseback as well. It is engraved with the limited-edition number and decorated with an illustration of the Oris Bear, diving in his scuba gear. The brand seems to balance its fun and lighthearted energy with technical finesse. The watch offers water resistance of up to 300 metres.
Each of the 250 pieces tells its story in a unique way. The watch certainly celebrates the brand’s success story and is a marvellous gift for all devoted fans.
