Exclusive: GMT India Takes a First Look at the Panerai x Prada Luminor Due Re-Nylon Collection

The latest Luminor Due Prada Re-Nylon collection marks an epic collaboration between two iconic Italian luxury brands. A masterful amalgamation of the aesthetics of both Panerai and Prada, the new Luminor Due variants offer sleeker silhouettes. Paired with exclusive straps that are crafted from the Prada Re-Nylon material, which is, essentially, a regenerated nylon fabric, the collection marries watchmaking sophistication with innovation. The watches are available in four colourways: Alabaster pink (PAM01425), light grey (PAM01426), navy blue (PAM01429), and iron grey (PAM01428). Iconic Italian Craftsmanship

Prada’s signature material, nylon, is an essential part of the Maison’s DNA, which has been synonymous with modern luxury for more than four decades now. Prada Re-Nylon represents a ground-breaking evolution of the material; it is crafted from ECONYL®, a 100% recycled nylon from pre- (50%) and post-consumer (50%) materials, such as fishing nets, discarded nylon, carpet, and industrial waste. 

Contemporary Design

The straps are available in iron grey and navy blue for the 42 mm case models and in alabaster pink and light grey for the 38 mm case variants. Each model features hot-printed logos of Prada Re-Nylon and Panerai to mark the collaboration. The cosmopolitan look of the watches is enhanced by polished steel cases. The alabaster pink (PAM01425) and light grey (PAM01426) models are paired with sophisticated matte white sandwich dials, filled with grey Super-LumiNova^TM. 

The iron grey (PAM01428) variant features a white sun-brushed dial with beige Super-LumiNova^TM while the navy blue model (PAM01429) boasts a blue sun-brushed dial with white Super-LumiNova^TM. The contrasting Super-LumiNova enhances the look of Panerai’s signature sandwich construction when it gets illuminated in the dark. 

Fine Details 

The date window at 3 o’clock and the small seconds display at 9 o’clock, along with a subtle Panerai inscription, make up the finer details on each dial, amplifying the contemporary look of the watches. Panerai’s Luminor Due Prada Re-Nylon is equipped with the PAM Click Release system to allow for easy changing of straps, thereby offering a greater degree of versatility. The Luminor Due Prada Re-Nylon 42 mm models feature adjustable buckles while the 38 mm watches come with pin buckles. Powered by the automatic P.900 calibre, the Luminor Due Prada Re-Nylon variants deliver a three-day power reserve.
