The New Carl F. Bucherer Heritage BiCompax Annual Hometown Edition Has a New Delhi Connection

Founded in Lucerne in 1888, Carl F. Bucherer is deeply connected to its birthplace. The watchmaker also has strong links to some of the most popular cities around the world. The latest offering from the Maison, Heritage BiCompax Annual Hometown Edition, honours not just its birthplace, but also other cities, including New Delhi. In essence, the new 88-piece limited-edition model celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit and international travel that have defined the brand’s legacy.

Each Hometown Edition features a unique 3-D engraving on the caseback’s sapphire crystal, dedicated to a specific city. The New Delhi Edition, for instance, showcases iconic landmarks, such as Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Lotus Temple, and TV Tower. The caseback also mentions the city’s name and the Edition number “out of 88”.

Furthermore, the watch boasts a gradient dial, transitioning from a silver centre to darker shades towards the edges. The sunray-brushed red dial is adorned with rhodium-plated central hour and minute hands filled with black Super-LumiNova. It also includes a central chronograph seconds hand, a tachymeter scale, a big date aperture at 12 o’clock, and an annual calendar month indicator between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions. Black small seconds and chronograph subdials provide a striking contrast. Completing the look is a two-tone perforated calfskin leather strap with red stitching to match the dial.

As for the other specifications, the watch is powered by an automatic CFB 1972 calibre movement, with a diameter of 30 mm, 47 jewels, and a power reserve of 42 hours. The 41 mm case is made of stainless steel and features a double-domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides. The watch is water-resistant for up to 30 metres.

Needless to say, the Heritage BiCompax Annual Hometown Edition resonates deeply with the people of India, courtesy of the impressive New Delhi iteration. Carl F. Bucherer’s tribute to “hometowns” will certainly be cherished by watch enthusiasts all over the world.
