Spotlighting the Hottest Timepieces Worn by Celebrities this Month

The month of May has been quite a treat for celebrity watch spotters. It all began with the Met Gala, where high fashion met horology, and ended with the Cannes Film Festival in France, IPL in India, and the Formula One Grand Prix in Monaco. Needless to say, timepieces worn by celebs were also in the spotlight at all these events.

Shah Rukh Khan Wearing Richard Mille RM 052 Tourbillon

As Shah Rukh Khan’s Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the IPL trophy this season, the Bollywood actor was seen celebrating the victory with a stunning Richard Mille RM 052 Skull Tourbillon on his wrist. The baseplate and bridges of the watch take the form of a grade 5 titanium skull. The upper and lower jaws hold the ruby of the tourbillon cage. 

Chris Hemsworth Wearing Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Meteorite Dial

Posing on the Cannes red carpet for the screening of his new film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Chris Hemsworth flaunted a gorgeous Rolex Daytona with a meteorite dial. The Everose gold version creates a strong visual contrast with the grey meteorite dial, which is highlighted by black counters, 18 ct white gold hour markers, and hands with Chromalight. The 40 mm case houses Rolex caliber 4130 and offers 72 hours of power reserve.

Charles Leclerc celebrated his first home-ground Grand Prix victory at this year’s Monaco GP edition. Leclerc wore a Richard Mille RM 72-01 Automatic Winding Lifestyle Flyback Chronograph for the occasion. The watch is driven by in-house Caliber CRMC1 – a skeletonised movement with automatic bidirectional winding and hours, minutes, small seconds, date, flyback chronograph, function indicator, and stop seconds.

Actor Elle Fanning walked the Cannes red carpet in a Gucci gown, straight from the 2025 Cruise collection, and showed off a dazzling Cartier Baignoire bangle watch. The case is crafted from 18 ct white gold with rhodium finish and it sits on a rigid, bangle bracelet, set with 552 brilliant-cut diamonds, totalling 5 carats. The silvered dial and blued-steel, sword-shaped hands finish the elegant look of the timepiece. 

Francis Ford Coppola Wearing F.P. Journe FFC

Francis Ford Coppola, filmmaker extraordinaire, is also a known horology enthusiast. At the premiere of his film Megalopolis, which marks his return as a director after 13 years, Coppola sported the F.P. Journe FFC 2023 watch. The piece is born of a collaboration between Coppola and the watchmaker. It indicates time with an animated hand the fingers of which depict the time, harking back to an ancient way of counting the hours.
