Shine Bright Like a Diamond: Presenting Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Latest Rendez-Vous Dazzling Night & Day Models

Jaeger-LeCoultre has just revealed new additions to the much-loved Rendez-Vous collection. These include two sparkly new editions of the Rendez-Vous Dazzling Night & Day. First launched in 2012, the Rendez-Vous collection has consistently provided a platform for the brand and the Manufacture’s Métiers Rares™ workshop to showcase their mastery of the jewellery crafts, married effortlessly with technical sophistication. These new high jewellery models, which form a part of the Rendez-Vous Dazzling collection, introduced in 2019, continue to stay true to that spirit.

The two new timepieces flaunt a first for the Rendez-Vous Dazzling collection: a fully diamond-set dial complementing the two circles of diamonds that form the bezel. One of the two (Ref. Q3432472) has a vivid red alligator strap that perfectly contrasts with the sparkle of the stones and the other (Ref. Q3432373) is set on a pink gold bracelet, entirely studded with diamonds. Both models sport grain-set diamonds in concentric circles that radiate outwards from the centre of the dial. The pattern’s symmetry — wherein the stones are anchored by tiny gold beads that are almost invisible to the eye — is a shining testament to the precision and prowess of the gem-setters in the Métiers Rares™ workshop.

While the red-alligator-strap iteration has a total of 590 diamonds (their total weight equals approximately 4.67 carats), representing 58 hours of meticulous gem-setting work, the option that has a pink gold bracelet takes after the design that was first created for the Rendez-Vous Dazzling Shooting Star in 2022. The bracelet features lozenge-shaped links that are put together in a supple ribbon-like manner that comfortably wraps around the wrist. The links — grain-set with a total of 436 diamonds (amounting to 4.87 carats) — represent an additional 80 hours of gem-setting. This brings the total number of diamonds for this high jewellery option to a staggering 1,026, resulting in an approximate weight of 9.54 carats.

Housed in a 36 mm case, the new Rendez-Vous Dazzling Night & Day models employ a mechanism that distils the 24-hour cycle of light and darkness into a captivating display on the wrist. It’s set on a mother-of-pearl disc that rotates as day turns to night and a polished golden sun alternates with a crescent moon, set on a background of stars. The timepieces run on Calibre 898, an automatic mechanical movement (offering a power reserve of 38 hours), designed, developed, and produced in-house. On turning the watch over, the transparent sapphire caseback reveals the circular graining, blued screws, Côtes de Genève, and the openworked pink gold winding rotor.

A shining ode to femininity, the new Rendez-Vous Dazzling Night & Day models with diamond-set dials combine Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watchmaking savoir-faire and jewellery expertise to spotlight yet another triumph in the brand’s journey of furthering its 190-year-old legacy.
