Panerai Joins Hands with Art of Time to Open a New Boutique in Bengaluru

The growth in the number of watch boutiques across India, offering tailored experiences, exclusive collections, and personalised services, is causing a dynamic shift in the country’s haute horology landscape. These outlets are meeting the rising demand for high-end timepieces among Indian watch enthusiasts. With growing disposable incomes and interest in horology, India's watch boutique scene is maturing into a complex ecosystem that combines luxury watchmaking with immersive retail experiences. Swiss watch brand Panerai further enriches this ecosystem with the launch of a new store in Bengaluru, in partnership with watch retailer Art of Time. The exclusive boutique was recently inaugurated by Mohit Hemdev, Country Manager, Panerai, Gaurav Bhatia, CEO and Director, Art of Time, and Bharat Kapoor, Director, Art of Time.

Located at Bengaluru’s Mall of Asia and covering 65 sqm, the new Panerai outlet ― the Maison's fourth flagship store in the country ― is a key milestone in the company's distribution network in the region. At the opening, Jean-Marc Pontroué, CEO, Panerai, said, “We are thrilled to have opened the doors to our new boutique in Bengaluru, as a strategic move in Panerai’s expansion in the market. This opening, enriched by Art of Time’s longstanding customer-oriented expertise, will support our business model in strengthening Panerai’s global retail network. By establishing a presence in one of the country’s primary locations, we reaffirm our commitment to business growth and brand strengthening in the region”. 

Tall glass windows at the boutique ensure a visual interaction with the outside world by providing an unobstructed view of the interiors. This invites visitors to explore the watchmaking universe of the brand, known for its distinctive Italian designs. The store features a prominent Panerai logo and a retro-illuminated clock that recalls the brand's signature Super-LumiNova® fluorescence, which is common to all Panerai watches. This fully working timepiece, strategically placed for heightened visibility, pays homage to the brand's DNA.

The interior design is further influenced by Karnataka’s coastline and the brand's diving legacy; the blue highlights and marble-effect floors resemble elements of Italian architecture. The outlet is meticulously split into distinct regions for different product lines, with wood veneer, metal grids, and lighting design influencing the feel of the boutique. Further enhancing its appeal is Bar Italiano, a specialised room that showcases coffee traditions, inviting visitors to experience true Italian coffee in a friendly and social setting. As Panerai expands in the region, this new address undoubtedly represents an upgraded experience, exuding the warmth and familiarity of Italian hospitality, with each visitor treated as a distinguished guest.

During the opening ceremony, all attendees were led to a photobooth and the trendy parts of Eight, a lively Asian restaurant known for its outstanding cocktails and tasty appetisers. The ambience blended modern elegance with a touch of heritage, providing the ideal setting for capturing memories and enjoying expertly made cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Guests mingled, posed for photos, and enjoyed the wonderful hospitality, thereby creating unforgettable experiences in this elegant environment. 

What’s more, DJ Clement Dsouza energised the crowd by smoothly combining sounds that brought the entire event to life. With his great track selection and easy transitions, he created an ideal party atmosphere, ensuring that every attendee felt the beat of enthusiasm. From old favourites to most recent chart-toppers, his music had everyone hitting the dance floor with gusto. His ability to read the crowd and lift the spirits made the event unique, transforming a simple gathering of watch lovers into a night of pure celebration and joy.
