Oris Introduces New Aquis Date and Aquis Date Upcycle Models at Watches and Wonders 2024

Oris unveils the latest versions of the much-revered Aquis Date at Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024. Stylish, reliable and designed for daily use, these versatile novelties showcase meticulous attention to detail. From the case to the bracelet, the timepieces seamlessly combine form and function, scoring high both in terms of visuals and technical performance.

With its balanced aesthetics and ergonomic design, the Aquis Date line features resized bezels with durable ceramic inserts, applied shield-shaped hour markers, bespoke Alpha-style hands, and unique typography. Meanwhile, the Aquis Date collection includes four 'Upcycle' models, featuring recycled PET plastic dials, highlighting the brand’s dedication to sustainability and positive environmental impact.

The new Aquis watches feature a date wheel that complements the dial colour, enhancing readability with its high-contrast text. Available in sizes of 41.50mm and 43.50mm, these models are available in a range of colours including green, blue, black, and recycled PET plastic; they come equipped with Calibre 733, a Swiss Made automatic movement boasting a power reserve of 38 hours. The watches are fitted onto a multi-piece stainless steel metal bracelet featuring a folding clasp with extension, or with a green or blue rubber strap also equipped with a folding clasp.

The premier model is the Aquis Date Calibre 400 43.50 mm, equipped with Oris' proprietary five-day, anti-magnetic automatic movement. It is available with a dial in green, blue, or recycled PET plastic; the hands and indices are filled with Super-LumiNova®. The watch can be paired with a multi-piece stainless steel bracelet, or a green or blue rubber strap, all featuring Oris' patented Quick Change Strap system and stainless steel folding clasp with the Oris-patented quick adjust clasp system.

The Aquis Date Calibre 400 features Oris' signature five-day anti-magnetic automatic movement paired with the patented Quick Strap Change system and an innovative quick adjust clasp.

Additionally, a bespoke 36.50mm variation is also available. A notable, distinctive feature of this iteration is its sleeker design, characterised by a narrower uni-directional rotating bezel featuring a durable ceramic insert adorned with baton hour markers. This design choice imparts a more subdued and elegant aesthetic compared to the standard Arabic numeral minutes scale found on the Aquis Date model.

The timepiece is offered in three different colour combinations: classic black with a corresponding black ceramic bezel, a crème mother-of-pearl dial paired with a grey ceramic bezel, and an Upcycle model featuring a dial made from recycled plastic PET. To further refine the design, the date wheels are colour-coordinated with the dials, while the diamond-shaped tips of the hour markers add an extra touch of sophistication. The model can be accessorised with a multi-piece stainless steel metal bracelet featuring a folding clasp, or a black or cream-coloured rubber strap with a folding clasp. Powering this variant is the reliable Calibre 733 movement.

The innovative Oris Sustainable Watch Box signifies the next significant leap forward in the brand's ambitious Change for the Better initiative.

The new releases underscore the brand's dedication to sustainability with innovative packaging, a key milestone in the Oris Emissions Reduction Programme. This year's introduction of modular packaging, made from recycled materials, is a significant step towards reducing global emissions. Recognising the impact of external logistics on carbon emissions, Oris reveals that this packaging innovation will cut packaging-related emissions by over 50 percent.
