Montblanc Expands the Star Legacy Lineup with Two New Variants Featuring Green Guilloché Dials
After introducing two limited-edition timepieces in blue last year, Montblanc has now returned to sporty novelties, namely Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Date 43 mm Limited Edition (Ref. 132948) and Montblanc Star Legacy Chronograph Day & Date 43 mm Limited Edition (Ref. 132950), each restricted to 800 pieces. What sets them apart from their blue-dial cousins is that these variants have green guilloché-style watch faces.
The Automatic Date and Chronograph Day & Date variants are housed in 43 mm stainless steel cases with satin-finished and polished accents, just like the blue-dial iterations. They also feature open casebacks, each with a stainless steel oscillating weight. In fact, their design scheme is reminiscent of the Minerva pocket watches from the late 19th and early 20th centuries that had round, polished, pebble-shaped cases and onion-shaped crowns at 3 o'clock. The Montblanc symbol can be found not only on the crown but also on the dial above 6 o’clock.
Montblanc Star Legacy Automatic Date
This timepiece features a polished bezel and stainless steel double-step lugs. The green guilloché dial features a green flange, rhodium-coated Roman hour markers, white luminous rhodium-coated sword-shaped hour, minute hands, and rhodium-coated seconds hand with no luminous coating. The dial's outer periphery features a white minute track, along with a date window at 3 o'clock; 4 o'clock is shown as 'four bars' instead of the standard 'IV', undoubtedly a notable feature.
This model also has small luminescent dots every five minutes and orange markings every 15 minutes. Powering the watch is Calibre MB 24.17, an in-house, self winding movement, with 38 hours of power reserve. The watch is finished on a green interchangeable calf leather strap with alligator print, sporting a stainless steel triple-folding clasp.
Montblanc Star Legacy Chronograph Day & Date
This watch is quite similar to the Automatic Date model, except for the fact that it features a chronograph complication. The basic layout is nearly identical; the display has a small seconds subdial at 9 o'clock, a double day-and-date in a window at 3 o'clock, a 30-minute subdial at 12 o'clock, and a 12-hour counter subdial at 6 o'clock.
The rectangular chronograph pushers at 2 o’clock and 4 o’clock are also crafted from stainless steel. Powering the watch is Calibre MB 25.07, an in-house, self-winding movement, delivering 48 hours of power reserve. This watch is also completed on a green interchangeable calf leather strap with alligator print, featuring a stainless steel triple-folding clasp.
