Maurice Lacroix Showcases the New AIKON Automatic Collection in Cool Summer Colours

Categorising novelties based on their case sizes instead of projecting them as gender-specific seems to be an emerging trend in the field of luxury watchmaking. This means there are no hard and fast rules that say that women cannot opt for chunky watches with complications. Talking about the case size, the new AIKON Automatic collection from Maurice Lacroix now not only comes in various sizes, but also with new dial colours, and is limited to 888 pieces per model. This collection, with regard to its tonality, can be worn by both men and women, who like sophisticated yet uncomplicated timepieces. 

Many watchmakers have also started to realise that the face of the watch, a.k.a the dial, is of supreme importance, and have started to explore singular or combination of colours for the same. The dial colours chosen for the latest AIKON collection are tanager turquoise, pink, and orange.

 The new time-only-date collection comes in a stainless steel case with six prominent arms. Powering the new Aikon collection is the automatic Calibre ML 115 with 38 hours of power reserve. Also common to all variants is the presence of a date window at 3 o’clock.

Some of the 35 mm (Ref. AI6006-SS00F-451-C) and 42 mm (Ref.AI6008-SS00F-431-C) models boast tanager turquoise dials, rhodium hour, minute hands with white SLN coating, and a rhodium second hand on each.

While eight diamond-set hour markers are reserved for the 35 mm model, the other variant gets rhodium-plated baton hour markers. Each watch is completed on a stainless steel bracelet or a tanager turquoise FKM rubber strap with an Easychange system.

There is another 42 mm variant (Ref. AI6008-SS00F-530-E) with an orange dial. This model comes with matte black, baton hour markers with white SLN, and a date window with a black background and a white numeral.

The hour, minute hands come with matte black and white SLN coating, complemented by a matte black second hand. This orange dial model is finished on a stainless steel bracelet with an optional orange rubber strap with the rhodium-plated M-logo and an Easychange system.

The collection also comprises another type of a 35 mm model (AI6006-SS00F-550-E), accompanied by a 39 mm (Ref. AI6007-SS00F-530-E) variant. These watches come with pink Clous de Paris dials, featuring rhodium faceted hour and minute hands with white SLN, and a rhodium second hand on each.

This particular 35 mm model also has eight diamond-set hour markers while rhodium-plated baton hour markers can be spotted on the 39 mm model. Each of these watches is accompanied by either a stainless steel bracelet or a pink FKM rubber strap with an Easychange system.

All models come with open casebacks with a stainless steel oscillating weight and the engraving of ‘Limited Edition’ and the individual watch number out of 888 on each.
