Jaeger-LeCoultre Names Lenny Kravitz as its New Global Brand Ambassador
At a time when digital space is growing on an unprecedented scale, more and more luxury brands seem keen on appointing celebrities as their global ambassadors across all platforms. In fact, it has become imperative for any brand to establish its unique voice and identity so that it can stand out. In this regard, having the right stakeholders or ambassadors can make a huge difference. The latest celebrity to join the league of extraordinary brand ambassadors in the world of horology is American singer-songwriter and actor Lenny Kravitz. Swiss luxury watch brand Jaeger-LeCoultre (JLC) has just roped in Kravitz as its global brand ambassador.
From Benedict Cumberbatch to Anya Taylor-Joy to Jackson Yee, Jaeger-LeCoultre is known for its partnerships with international celebrities. Incidentally, four-time Grammy winner Kravitz was spotted wearing a Reverso at the Oscars this year. Says Catherine Rénier, CEO, Jaeger-LeCoultre, “With his artistry, inventiveness and ability to transcend genres, Lenny epitomises Jaeger-LeCoultre’s values and style.”
Born as Leonard Albert Kravitz, he is the only child of actor Roxie Rocker and NBC news producer Sy Kravitz. His music has always blended inspirations from rock, blues, funk and soul, fusing all into a unique and constantly evolving musical journey that is perfectly complemented by his distinctive personal style. Speaking on JLC, the 58-year-old musician says, “I feel very drawn to Jaeger-LeCoultre. The way they combine such a high level of craftsmanship, design and function in their watches – that really resonates with me.”
On the work front, Kravitz has returned to the big screen after eight years with Shotgun Wedding and has also signed Cutman, whose dates are yet to be announced. With his 11 studio albums — 40 million copies have sold worldwide — this multidimensional artist has effortlessly segued into films, appearing as Cinna in the box-office hits, The Hunger Games and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Kravitz has also appeared in such critically-acclaimed films as Precious and The Butler.
As an entrepreneur, he founded Kravitz Design Inc, a New York City-based company, in 2003. The company has portfolios in commercial and residential areas. Among its clients are the Morgans Hotel Group, Swarovski Crystal and The Setai Group.
