Jacob & Co.’s Latest Masterpiece: The Epic X Wonders of India Edition, a Tribute to a Timeless Land

Known for its trailblazing designs and ground-breaking revolution in high watchmaking, Jacob & Co. has always found a muse in India, whether for the Astronomia Art India models or the Jacob & Co. Epic X India Edition watches launched last year. As a tribute to its muse, the brand has now launched an exclusive collection celebrating India’s rich and diverse heritage: Epic X Titanium Neoralithe Inner Ring – Wonders of India Edition. 

The new, India-inspired creation from the prestigious brand comprises a quartet of watches; each iteration offers a limited edition of 11 pieces. The symbolic design of the watches reflects the brand’s dedication to authentic cultural representation and respect for Indian heritage.

Paying Homage to Indian Heritage and Culture

‍Since its debut in 2015, the Epic X collection has embodied Jacob & Co.’s signature style, blending intricate design with bold innovation. The latest Wonders of India Edition watches continue this legacy, encapsulating the essence of India through exquisite details and a commitment to luxury watchmaking. The models in the collection feature 2D representations of four iconic Indian landmarks within the skeletonised dials.

Carving a Distinct Place in Haute Horology

‍The new Jacob & Co. Epic X Wonders of India Edition timepieces are a nod to cultural assimilation through the finest expression of craftsmanship and innovation in luxury watchmaking. The limited-edition series comes in four striking colour variations — red, green, powder blue, and navy blue.

The design aesthetics of the new references, all sized at 44 mm, are marked by the Epic X’s signature X-shaped lugs, exquisite skeletonised dials, stylish rubber straps that match the hue of the inner ring, and robust titanium cases that are water-resistant to 100 metres. The four X-shaped lugs connect the satin-polished bezel to the strap that features hexagonal perforations in a honeycomb pattern throughout its length. This particular design element on the strap adds a touch of playfulness while complementing the openworked design language and making for a comfortable fit. 

Honouring Technical Excellence

‍Inside each of the new models beats the JCAM45 calibre, a movement exclusively crafted for Jacob & Co. by Concepto. This high-precision, manual-winding skeletonised movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, and ensures impeccable reliability and precision while offering a 48-hour power reserve.

Comprising 158 meticulously arranged components, the JCAM45 movement is designed to enhance each watch’s skeletonised aesthetics, with such elements as a vertically aligned barrel, a balance wheel, and a sandblasted upper bridge for increased visibility. The finishing touches — including 21 rubies set in gleaming chatons and polished angles — showcase the masterful artistry of Jacob & Co.’s watchmakers.
