Introducing the Latest Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous Jewellery Tourbillon Variant, a Masterpiece for Women
When it comes to watches specifically meant for women, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s expertise is widely regarded as exceptional. The watchmaker’s Rendez-Vous collection, which made its debut in 2012, attests to this undeniable horological fact. Saluting the courage, determination, and achievements of women everywhere, the collection embodies a distinctly feminine aesthetic. Housed in a sleek 39 mm case, the newly launched Rendez-Vous Jewellery Tourbillon (Ref.Q3412480) variant is a stunning manifestation of this design language, blending luxury, beauty, and precision.
The novelty’s Serenity Blue (a unique blue-green shade that first appeared in 2023) sunray-brushed dial combines fine watchmaking with high jewellery skills through the signature codes of the Rendez-Vous collection. Sunray dials, often known as sunburst dials, are a popular design element in watchmaking, valued for the play of light on them. The surfaces of such dials are often completed with delicate radial brushing, emanating from the centre, just like sunrays. This technique ensures a dynamic appearance for the dial by reflecting light differently, depending on the angle, adding depth and refinement to the watch.
In the case of the Rendez-Vous Jewellery Tourbillon’s dial, as the user moves her wrist, the colour appears to change tone and intensity, based on the angle and reflection of light, transitioning from gentle silvery-grey to bright aquamarine to rich Serenity Blue ― all this is accentuated by the sunray coating. Amplifying the harmony and balance of the design, the heart of the dial is decorated with a circle of brilliant-cut diamonds, intersected by a smaller circle of diamonds that draws attention to the tourbillon. In fact, the Rendez-Vous Jewellery Tourbillon variant is covered with 215 diamonds, totalling 2.52 carats.
The new watch also gets a pink gold case, lugs, and a crown, which is reverse-set with a round brilliant-cut diamond at 3 o’clock. There is an additional ring of diamonds set on the bezel; diamonds form an unbroken line across the case side, from the tip of one lug to the tip of the other. The colour of the pink gold case is matched by the Rendez-Vous collection’s signature applied ‘floral’ numerals, hour, minute hands, and applied ‘JL’ logo.
Visible through the aperture on the dial at 6 o’clock is the tourbillon escapement that makes one revolution every 60 seconds as it spins on its axis. There is a polished pink gold hand with an arrow-head tip indicating the running seconds, as it traces the circle of diamonds set around the aperture. The minute details of the hand-decorated tourbillon gears can be seen from the dial side.
Powering the watch is the high-precision automatic Calibre 978 with a 45-hour power reserve. Turning the watch showcases the sapphire open caseback with a pink gold oscillating weight and a glimpse of the tourbillon cage. The watch is finished on an interchangeable light blue alligator strap with a folding pink gold clasp.
