Alpine Eagle 41 XP CS Platinum & Alpine Eagle 33

For the first time, Chopard is adding to its Alpine Eagle sports watch collection an exceptional platinum version — the ultra-thin ‘41 XP’ (Ref. 295396-9001). The watch comes with a 41 mm case, a crown with a compass rose at 3 o’clock, and eight indexed screws on the bezel, all in platinum. The brass dial has a radiating pattern. What’s more, this model gets a new gradient blue dial colour named ‘Shades of Ice'; this distinctive hue is paler in the centre and deeper around the rim. The baton-type hours and minutes hands are in ethical gold, while the applied brass hour markers and the Roman marker for 12 o'clock are all in Grade X1 Super-LumiNova ®. The arrow-tipped brass seconds hand with a counterweight is shaped like an eagle’s feather with black transfers.

Powering the watch is Calibre 96.42-L, a self-winding movement, certified by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) and ensuring a 65-hour power reserve. While the exhibition caseback has a micro-rotor in platinum, the calibre is fitted with two Chopard Twin Technology barrels and adorned with a Côtes de Genève pattern; its refinement is acknowledged by the Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark. Finishing this model is a tapering bracelet in platinum with a satin-brushed large link and flanks; it sports a polished central cap, a triple folding clasp with safety pushers in platinum, and blades in ethical 18 ct white gold. This model will be boutique-exclusive.

The final watch, Alpine Eagle 33 (Ref. 298617-4001), is sized at 33 mm, and crafted from Lucent Steel™ and yellow gold. This round-cased model comes with raised stylised flanks, a crown engraved with a compass rose in ethical 18 ct yellow gold at 3 o’clock, and a diamond-set bezel with eight functional indexed screws in ethical 18 ct yellow gold.

The brass dial is embossed with a radiating pattern inspired by the eagle’s iris; its ‘Vals Grey’ colour is achieved through galvanic treatment. Roman hour markers can be found at 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 9 o’clock, all diamond-set. The gilded baton-type hours and minutes hands are enhanced with Grade XI Super-LumiNova ®; the gilded arrow-tipped seconds hand has a counterweight shaped like an eagle’s feather. Powering the watch is a self-winding movement, Chopard Calibre 09.01-C, offering a 42-hour power reserve. This movement features a mere 8-ligne diameter. In fact, it is one of the smallest movements to be awarded the prestigious certification of precision by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute. The exhibition caseback sports the Alpine Eagle engraving and an oscillating weight. Finishing the watch is a Lucent Steel™ bracelet with an ethical 18 ct yellow gold central cap, accompanied by a triple folding clasp.
