Bangalore’s Newest Luxury Address: Exclusive IWC Boutique Now Open at Mall of Asia

India is rapidly rising as a top location for major watch companies wishing to open exclusive boutiques, owing to a booming luxury market and an expanding pool of affluent consumers. With a growing appreciation for high craftsmanship and heritage timepieces, the Indian market offers attractive potential for luxury watchmakers looking to capitalise on the country's shifting horological preferences and purchasing power. Major metropolitan centres across India are seeing an increase in demand for high-end watches, driven by ambitious lifestyles and a strong love for luxury. The newly opened IWC Schaffhausen boutique at the Mall of Asia in Bangalore reflects this trend. Set up in partnership with Ethos Watches, the boutique ― the first for the watchmaker in Bangalore ― has been designed to be intimate and welcoming for collectors and watch enthusiasts alike.

Needless to say, watch boutiques have become a major global trend, offering personalised shopping experiences. Unlike regular retail locations, these boutiques provide a more private and exclusive setting in which buyers may browse high-end watch collections with expert supervision. Leading watch brands are increasingly investing in boutique-style outlets to offer personalised services like customisation, individual consultations, and access to limited-edition models.

The new IWC boutique, spanning 72.62 sqm, provides an intimate area for clients to experience horological perfection. The refined environment provides private consultations, allowing consumers to learn about watchmaking and the history behind each line. The new store space showcases special Portugieser models in maritime-inspired blue and gold colours. Each piece features blue dials, gold-plated hands, and casings made of 18-carat 5N gold or 18-carat Armour Gold®, which is noted for its improved toughness.

The Portugieser Perpetual Calendar Tourbillon combines a tourbillon and perpetual calendar, requiring no correction until 2100. It has a diameter of 45 mm and an 82-part tourbillon that compensates for gravity's effects, improving accuracy. The Portugieser Tourbillon Rétrograde Chronograph, on the other hand, includes a flying hacking minute tourbillon at 6 o'clock. This 43.5 mm model features a retrograde date display and a flyback chronograph, with a blue dial and gold accents that add maritime elegance.

The boutique does offer a wide range of IWC lines, including the adventurous Pilot's Watch series, the creative Ingenieur line, and the timeless Portofino range. Visitors can thus discover renowned watches that represent the brand's precision engineering and excellent craftsmanship.
