A. Lange & Söhne Launches New Zeitwerk Models in Platinum and Rose Gold
Since its release in 2009, A. Lange & Söhne has been showcasing its Zeitwerk model, which combines traditional German craftsmanship with an innovative approach to displaying time. Inspired by the iconic five-minute clock at the Semper Opera House in Dresden, it comprises three large discs located within two apertures, allowing for digital reading of time. Recently, two new versions of the watch have been revealed — they have the latest manual-winding Calibre L043.6.
The new A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk watches feature 41.9 mm cases available in either platinum or 18kt rose gold. By and large, they resemble their predecessors, boasting polished and brushed surfaces, a crown at 2 o’clock, and a pusher at 4 o’clock to quickly adjust the hour disc.
The display showcases opposing jumping hour and minute apertures, a subdial for running seconds and a power reserve indicator at 12 o'clock. So, how do we differentiate between the two models? Well, the platinum version has a silver-coloured dial while the rose gold version sports a black one.
As mentioned earlier, A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk has been enhanced with its new, in-house Calibre L043.6. This improved barrel design holds two mainsprings, allowing it to store energy for up to 72 hours — more than double its previous 36 hours. The finely crafted movement boasts a frequency of 2.5 Hz and contains 451 components. What’s more, the watch is fitted with an exhibition caseback.
The A. Lange & Söhne timepieces have handcrafted leather bands, which can be found either in black or brown.
