Parmigiani Fleurier Introduces the Compact Tonda PF Automatic Variant in Stainless Steel and Rose Gold

New watch models seem to be scaling down the sizes of their flagship pieces. This seems to be the new trend that most of the timepiece makers have started to follow. In most cases, the size is being kept below 40 mm — even the brands that are traditionally known for chunky timepieces seem to be adjusting to the new normal. Keeping this trend in mind and ensuring that watches remain unisex, Parmigiani Fleurier has now introduced a 36 mm version of its most straightforward Tonda PF, eliminating the date window. The new watch is a sequel to the 2022 GPHG Women’s winner model that came with a ruby dial with no other complications.

Marking a first for the Tonda PF collection, the new 36 mm variant comes in a two-tone 18 ct rose gold and stainless steel case (Ref. PFC804-1020003-100182), with corresponding teardrop lugs in rose gold and stainless steel. What’s more, the newly launched watch has a knurled bezel and a rose gold crown at 3 o’clock. This gold-and-steel model gets a sandy grey dial, decorated with a Grain d'Orge hand-guilloché pattern and 18 ct rose gold hour markers. This model also comes with 18 ct rose gold, skeletonised, delta-shaped hour and minute hands.

Powering this variant is the Calibre PF770 automatic winding movement. This calibre encompasses 179 components and 29 jewels. It operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph (4Hz) and offers a 60-hour power reserve. The Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges and the bevelled edges are visible through the sapphire window on the caseback, which has four visible screws. Furthermore, the 22 ct gold rotor is skeletonised, polished, and sandblasted, adding a final touch of luxury. The movement is still exceptionally slim (3.9 mm) and features the Parmigiani Fleurier engraving on the outer periphery of the caseback.

The sand grey-dialled model gets a polished and satin-finished 18 ct rose gold-and-steel bracelet with a steel folding clasp. Water resistance is recorded at 100 metres. So, it's better to avoid any aquatic activity while wearing the new Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Automatic watch.
