H. Moser & Cie. Unveils the New Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Variant at its First Boutique in the US

H. Moser & Cie. fans are in for a treat ― a double bonanza that’s sure to delight! The luxury watchmaker has opened its first (fourth in the world) boutique in the US; located at The Villa Menlo Park in Silicon Valley, a community known for its innovative spirit, this new outlet marks a significant milestone in the brand's growth strategy. Celebrating this feat, H. Moser & Cie. has also unveiled its Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton variant at the boutique. After winning the hearts of cities like Shanghai, Beijing, and Hong Kong, the timepiece maker plans to open new stores in New Delhi and Seoul this year; a second lounge in Hong Kong is in the offing as well.
Needless to say, the boutique model is increasingly becoming popular in the world of watches; it helps watchmakers display their latest innovations in a unique manner, moving away from typical multi-brand stores. To be sure, opening private or exclusive boutiques allows brands to provide a more curated and immersive experience, thereby developing a close rapport with collectors and enthusiasts. This method not only increases brand exclusivity, but it also provides greater control over price, distribution, and storytelling. Limited-edition releases and boutique-only models increase foot traffic, creating a perception of exclusivity and desirability.

Raising the bar, the Menlo Park boutique, presented in partnership with Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry, aims to create a whole new cultural hub. Located at 500 El Camino Real in the Bay Area, the boutique will focus on exploration, craftsmanship, sophistication, and engaging experiences, including world-class dining and retail. All in all, the H. Moser & Cie. space in California will reflect the watchmaker’s principles of minimalism, refinement, and sincerity, as embodied in the newly launched Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton (Ref. 6814-0700) variant.

Housed in a 40 mm 18 ct yellow gold cushion case, the watch has a crown at 3 o’clock, adorned with an "M" and lugs. The fully skeletonised dial has baton-style gold-plated faceted hour markers, a double index marking the 12 o’clock position, and gold-plated hour and minute hands with Globolight® inserts. There is a one-minute flying tourbillon at 6 o'clock with a skeletonised bridge that seems to float weightlessly. The movement gets a diamond bevelling, and the main plate and bridges showcase anthracite finishing. The barrel, which has also been hollowed out, offers a view of the spring, allowing the wearer to check if it has been wound correctly.

The timepiece is driven by the self-winding calibre HMC 814, an automatic movement equipped with a Straumann® double hairspring, designed and produced in-house by Precision Engineering AG; it delivers a minimum of 72 hours of power reserve. The movement also has an automatic bi-directional pawl winding system. The skeleton caseback has a gold, fully skeletonised oscillating weight. The watch is finished on an 18 ct yellow gold integrated bracelet with an 18 ct yellow gold folding clasp, sporting three blades engraved with the Moser logo. The Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton (Ref. 6814-0700) timepiece will be available only at the brand's exclusive locations and online on its sales platform.
