At Watches and Wonders 2025, Panerai Reveals New Additions to the Luminor Collection

The origins of Luminor, Panerai’s most recognisable collection, dates back to the 1960s when the brand came up with an innovative material that shaped the creation of the first models. Invented to meet the demanding standards of the Italian Navy, the brand had long been supplying instruments of precision to the Marina Militare. But it was only in the 90s that Panerai brought together a collection of distinctive features that became synonymous with the Luminor series.

PAM003325

At Watches and Wonders 2025, Panerai has chosen to reveal new variants of the Luminor Marina, one of the brand’s most celebrated models known for its contemporary, sporty style and deep-rooted history. Available in titanium and steel, the new watches retain the core identity of the Luminor Marina with its signature aesthetics, reliability, and functionality, while also introducing new essential details and technical features. The bold lines and contours instantly draw attention while ensuring a high degree of comfort and precision.

Modern Yet Traditional

The key elements have been retained, such as the signature safety lock system and the luminous dial with sandwich construction. The clean dial on the references displays only the Maison’s name and ‘Luminor Marina’ with an enlarged bevelled date display that creates a bold, clean visual appeal. The rhodium small seconds display further enhances the functionality. For the first time in Panerai’s core collection, the series utilises the Super-LumiNova® X2, an innovation that provides increased brightness, ensuring the watch is easily readable even in low-light conditions.

PAM03314

At the heart of the new series is the new P.980 calibre, a three-day power reserve automatic movement. It includes a traversing balance bridge, enhancing stability and performance accuracy. The movement features a stop-second function, allowing for precise time-setting by halting the seconds hand when the crown lever is pulled out. In another first for the Luminor Marina lineup, the models have an impressive water resistance of up to 500 metres. This significant upgrade builds on Panerai’s legacy of creating reliable, high-performance timepieces, reflecting its history as a supplier to the Italian Navy. The new streamlined lugs and PAM ClickTM release system on both strap and buckle, available for the first time with the Luminor Marina, allows for an effortless tool-free strap change experience.

Luminor Marina Titanio PAM003325

A perfect combination of Panerai’s high-tech material expertise with a distinct olive green aesthetic reminiscent of the Maison’s military origins, this new 44 mm model sports a brushed-finished case crafted from Grade 5 titanium, a remarkable material known for its strength, comparable with that of steel but 44% lighter, making it an ideal choice for those who value both resilience and comfort. This choice of material reflects Panerai’s roots in creating robust tool watches for extreme conditions, a legacy that continues in today’s titanium models.

Sporting a polished bezel and an olive-green sun-brushed dial, the Luminor Marina Titanio PAM003325 comes with a dark green scamosciato calf strap — reminiscent of the vintage appeal of older models — and a second dark green rubber strap.

Luminor Marina steel (PAM03312, PAM03312, PAM03314, PAM03323)

Sized at 44 mm, the robust Luminor Marina steel references are crafted from Panerai’s premium AISI 316LVM - 1.4441 stainless steel, known for its incredible strength and corrosion resistance. Luminor Marina PAM03323 offers a stylish reimagining of an emblematic model with the introduction of a V-shaped bracelet design that tapers from the case to the buckle, offering a lighter feel for everyday wear. The brushed finish on the interior links and the polished finish on the edges create a distinct three-dimensional effect when the light hits the links. This model also has the new Quick Length Adjustment feature, which allows the bracelet to extend by 2 mm on each side, without the use of any extra tools. The light blue sun-brushed dial offers just the right contrast to the sheen of the bracelet, elevating the modern appeal of the timepiece.

For wearers who prefer a more classic aesthetic, there are steel references available in three strap iterations: PAM03312 with a traditional black dial paired with a black alligator strap; PAM03313’s sun-brushed blue dial matched with a blue alligator strap; and PAM03314 whose white dial and black alligator strap lend a contemporary flair. Each of those models also includes a second rubber strap in matching colours. The PAM Click Release SystemTM allows wearers to switch between each strap option with ease, ensuring high versatility.
